It’s summertime, and while the living may be easy, sometimes getting ready to travel takes a little more preparation. Between packing the car or suitcases, getting the family ready to go, and making sure you don’t leave anything behind, planning and packing for a trip can be a stressful experience.
Qatar Airways, the three-time winner of airline of the year at the Skytrax Airline Awards, has compiled a list of summer travel tips and essentials families should never leave home without. Find their tips below.
Jetting to a sunny destination? Qatar Airways suggests travellers remember:
- You can never apply enough sun screen.
- Depending on your destination, mosquitoes can carry diseases. Remember to bring some insect repellant and a calming lotion in case you get bitten.
- Wet swimsuit? Some lingerie stores now offer small waterproof bags to slip your bathing suit into in case it does not have time to dry.
- Plastic bags are easy to pack and are useful to bring back sand-filled sandals, along with creams and liquids without any risks of leaking.
- A sarong takes very little room and can serve as both a towel and cover-up.
- Suitcase too full? Roll your clothes instead of folding them to save space.
- Pack a portable battery or portable power supply. Do not miss out on the good times because you are waiting for your gadgets to charge!
- Ensure you have copies of all your travel documents and to keep them in a different location than the originals, as well as in a safe place at home.
